Sources of Fashion Inspiration

No matter where you live, you always have access to sources of creative inspiration. Here are some of the best places to start:
- Museums and art galleries
- Vintage archives and historic sites
- Antique stores and estate sales
- Films and other types of moving graphics
- Novels
- Markets
- Travel, city walks, nature walks, and general explorations
All of these places and experiences serve to enhance your “visual library,” in turn providing you with more input for your creative fashion design portfolio. They can also be instrumental in unlocking your most basic creative impulses, with something as simple as a color combination or a pattern sparking an idea that you can then build off of in new and unique ways.
Also critical to this process is staying on top of style and market trends. Fashion forecasting, trend stories, trade and consumer magazines, and even advertisements are all excellent guides to draw inspiration from, both visually and contextually.

On the Wings of Hermès is not your average brand activation. It’s a free, immersive theatrical experience in a waterfront hangar, showcasing the house’s commitment to craftsmanship; not through vitrines, curatorial texts, or product captions, but through live cinema, surreal storytelling, and a good dose of whimsy.
