ISTITUTO MARANGONI MIAMI WELCOMES NEW FASHION STYLING PROGRAM LEADER, KARLA GUINDI

ISTITUTO MARANGONI MIAMI WELCOMES NEW FASHION STYLING PROGRAM LEADER, KARLA GUINDI, BRINGING FRESH VISION AND EXPERTISE TO THE PROGRAM

Karla Guindi joins the extensive network of the academic leadership team at Istituto Marangoni Miami with plans to guide the program forward with her industry expertise and connections.

MIAMI, FL, July 23, 2024—Istituto Marangoni Miami is glad to announce Karla Guindi as the new Program Leader for its Fashion Styling program. With her background as an international celebrity stylist, she brings a wealth of experience and a new vision to the program. “Having worked in the field for over 25 years, it is exciting to be a part of the preparation of these super-talented young stylists,” explained Guindi. “Since I was a student myself, the name Marangoni was always a part of my big dreams to study fashion. Now I can say the dream took a turn to prepare the students to become the best stylists in the industry.”

Karla Guindi’s interest in fashion began in Mexico City, where she was born and spent her childhood. At the age of 10, she relocated to Milan with her mother, an opera singer, where the window displays in Via Montenapoleone cemented her interest in the fashion world. Her passion for the industry intensified further during her move to Los Angeles, where her mother, now an actress, introduced her to the world of Hollywood.

Coupled with her early experiences, Guindi would become a successful celebrity stylist. She studied Fashion Design at Istituto Degli Abiti in Mexico City and further educated herself in Fashion Styling, Fashion Design, and Art Direction at Central Saint Martins in London and New York City’s Fashion Institute of Technology. Over the last 25 years, she has built up a client base that now includes famous celebrities like Thalia, Paulina Rubio, and the former First Lady of Mexico. Her work graces the pages of some of the world’s leading magazines, including InStyle Magazine Mexico, GQ Mexico, Elle Mexico, and Vogue Latin America.

Since her appointment as an adjunct professor in the Fashion Styling program at Istituto Marangoni Miami, Guindi has contributed to the overall experience for students by inviting celebrity guests and prominent speakers to class discussions. “I try to train them [the students] as if they were my assistant in some way,” admitted Guindi. Now, with vast industry knowledge and an innovative approach, as the new Program Leader, she will continue to shape the future of fashion styling education at IMM.

“We are really proud to introduce Karla Guindi as the new Program Leader of our Fashion Styling Program,” said Hakan Baykam, CEO and President of IMM. “With her impressive background and flair for fashion, she will definitely bring a fresh, stylish edge to our program and elevate the experience for our students.”

Karla Guindi resides in Miami with her husband and two daughters. She is looking forward to continuing working with Istituto Marangoni Miami as she leads the Fashion Styling program into its next chapter.
