This roundtable dialogue on textile and fabric design will be virtually attended by an amazing panel of experts in the field. Confirmed speakers include Rahbia Allen, Natasha Middagh, and Emily Modezjewsky.

With the wide spectrum of their experiences, they will focus on three main strands of topics such as the textile design industry; textile finishes and specifications; and textiles associated with sustainability, safety, and codes. Under these three strands, these designers and product developers will share more information about the interior textile industry; fabric performance and maintenance; interior textile product labeling, certification, and compliance; and the world of mills and stock fabrics.

In addition, they will delve briefly into textiles for furniture, textiles for window treatments and wall coverings, textiles for carpets and rugs, and textiles for bath and bedding products. As careers in product design and development bring textiles to the forefront of residential and commercial interiors, and excitingly into high-performance textiles for hospitality and resort design, cruise ship interiors, and so forth; the conversations are enormous on what’s next in the world of textiles.

The panel will be moderated by Dr. Thelma Lazo-Flores, Dean of Interior Design at Istituto Marangoni Miami.
