Jorge Andres Cas-llo is a photographer, curator, and editor. He was born in Caracas, Venezuela. Since the fall of 2018, he has been teaching Fashion Photography at Istituto Marangoni Miami for BA and VP courses. He has also been a photography instructor at Here’s Help in Opa-Locka since 2022. Cas-llo has been working as a photo editor and curator at Fundacion Empresas Polar Caracas since 2013. He has also been a photographer and editor for media at the Doral Contemporary Art Museum (DORCAM) and Arts Connections Foundation in Miami since 2020. Previously, he was a Photography teacher at the Miami Institute of Photography from 2018 to 2022. He also held the posi-on of Professor of Photography at the School of Architecture at the Universidad Central de Venezuela for 20 years. Additionally, he was a film Professor at the School of Journalism at Universidad Catolica Andrés Bello, Caracas, from 2007 to 2013. Cas-llo served as the head of the Photography Department at El Nacional newspaper in Venezuela from 2001 to 2007. During his tenure, he led the transi-on from analog to digital photography and wrote the digital workflow manual to update the production mode to adjust to the international standards of news agencies. Since 2018, he has been the owner and director at Jacvisual LLC, a communication studio in Miami. He earned a Master’s degree in Communications Design from the University of Essen, Germany. Castillo’s work has been exhibited in galleries and museums internationally.
