Mariam Elias

Ms. Mariam Elias is an educator, designer, and writer. In the last five years, she served in various academic institutions locally and internationally such as Florida International University, Istituto Marangoni Miami, Miami International University of Art and Design in Miami, and Coventry University in Cairo, Egypt. She has taught in graduate programs such as the MA in Design & Media Management and MFA in Visual Arts. She has also covered courses in disciplines such as Advertising, Graphic Design, and Interior Design. In 2012, she started her furniture studio “Paradoxia Designs” which aims to create a fusion of heritage and contemporary design trends. She exhibited her furniture at several design fairs and has been featured in several magazines. 

She holds several graduate degrees including an M.S. in Global Strategic Communication from Florida International University; and an Associate Degree in Art Direction from Miami Ad School, and an MA Management of Heritage and Cultural Projects from University of Turin in Italy. She finished her BA in Interior Design specializing in Décor Scenography at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cairo, and a BA in Journalism and Mass Communication from The American University in Cairo. She currently teaches the History of Art, Design, and Visual Culture I and II courses, and Intermediate Digital Design.
