Karla Guindi

Karla-Guindi

Fashion Styling Professor

Karla was born in Mexico City where she lived until she was 10 years old. Later she moved to Milan, Italy with her mother, then an opera singer. This is where her love for fashion began, looking at the windows in Via Monte Napoleone. Later on with her mother, now an actress, they moved to Los Angeles and she discovered Hollywood.  When it was time for her to pursue her own career she decided to put the two experiences together and became a very proficient celebrity stylist. First Karla studied Fashion design at Istituto Degli Abiti in Mexico City, later on continued her studies in Central Saint Martins London in Fashion Styling, Fashion Design, and Art Direction. She also attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.

At the same time she began experimenting with musician friends playing with their wardrobe until she realized this is what she was meant to do as a professional. Working in magazines like InStyle Magazine Mexico, GQ Mexico, Elle Mexico, and Vogue Latin America, almost 25 years later, Karla is one of the most successful celebrity stylists in her country and abroad. She has dressed Thalia, Paulina Rubio, among others, and even the former First Lady of Mexico.  Now living in Miami with her husband and two daughters, Karla is a professor at Istituto Marangoni Miami for Fashion Styling.
